Finalizing and downloading

Finalize renders the whole song with the selected revision at full quality. What you get, in which formats, what each plan includes, and the Projects menu.

#Finalizing

The confirmation. After Yes, the full track renders and you are taken to Projects.
  1. Select the revision you want
Click its row in the Mastering A/B list. Finalize uses the selected revision, including its Custom EQ if the EQ is on.
  2. Press FINALIZE MASTERING
Bottom right of the workspace. A confirmation asks if you are sure; press Yes.
  3. Wait a minute or two
The original file is downloaded from storage, the revision's exact settings are applied to the whole song, and the result is saved. Longer songs take longer.
  4. Download from Projects
You land on Projects with the track marked Master. Expand it and use the menu on the Preview: Master row.

#What you can download

The master row menu in Projects.
Menu itemWhat it does
Download master as wav24-bit WAV at the sample rate of your upload (44.1, 48 or 96 kHz). No resampling, no dither.
Download master as mp3320 kbps MP3. Whichever format was not rendered natively is converted on the fly.
Copy mastering seedCopies the seed of the finalized settings so you can reuse them on the next track.
ConvertOpens Advanced Conversion: WAV, MP3, FLAC, OGG, AAC, M4A or AIFF, 44.1 or 48 kHz, 16, 24 or 32-bit depending on format.
Analyze & SimulateOpens the master in the free Loudness Penalty tool to see how each streaming platform will turn it down, with speaker simulations.
Continue MasteringDeletes the finalized master and reopens the workspace with all revisions intact. Download first if you want to keep the file.

The original row has its own menu: download the original, rename the project, or delete the whole project.

#What it costs

PlanFinalize
FreePreviews and revisions only. Finalizing opens the membership page; your revisions wait for you.
UnlimitedUnlimited finalizes.
Unlimited PlusUnlimited finalizes, plus priority in the render queue.

Previews, revisions and A/B listening never cost anything. Details on every plan are on the Plans and limits page and on Pricing.

#Delivery checklist

  • Streaming: WAV. Platforms encode it themselves; giving them an MP3 means encoding twice.
  • Headroom: if a platform asks for -1 dBTP, set True Peak to -1 before finalizing.
  • Loudness: run Analyze & Simulate. If a platform will turn your master down by more than 3 or 4 dB, you paid for loudness you will not keep; consider a lower Intensity.
  • Metadata: the free metadata editor writes title, artist and cover art into the MP3.
  • Mono check: flip Mono Compatibility to Mono on a revision and A/B it. If the bass vanishes, widen less.
Can I finalize the same project again with a different revision?

Yes. Choose Continue Mastering in Projects, select the other revision and finalize again. The earlier master is deleted when you continue, so download it first.

Is there a watermark?

Not on regular accounts. The only watermark exists in the free guest funnel on the landing page (the one with the deliberately silly hee-hee), and it is spelled out there.

My download is an MP3 but I uploaded WAV

Use Download master as wav. The other option converts. If you uploaded FLAC or AIFF, the master is rendered as WAV.

Ready to hear it on your track?

Upload a mix, get the first master in about a minute, and keep the revisions you like.

Try it on your own track

The first master takes about a minute. Previews are free.
