AI Mastering Engineers

Six engineers, six personalities. Who they are, what each one changes in the sound, and how to pick one for your track.

#Why engineers instead of presets

A preset is a fixed set of numbers. An engineer is a point of view: it builds the master its own way, it reads your prompts in its own style, and it has defaults it leans towards. Pick Marcus and the master hits harder before you type a word. Pick Luna and the colour stages step aside entirely. Same song, six opinions.

#Choosing an engineer

Open the picker from the Revision Suite, browse, choose Sophia, save. The change renders as a new revision.

Open the picker from the Mastering Engineer card at the top of the Revision Suite, from the Engineer button next to the Prompt / Reference switch, or from the engineer row in the engine popover. Choose a card, hit Save changes, and a new revision renders with that engineer. Switching engineers never deletes anything: the previous revisions stay in the A/B list, so you can master with two or three engineers and pick the winner by ear.

#Engineers and prompts

The engineer you picked is the one reading your prompts. Each one hears a prompt through its own character: Marcus hears "more energy" and reaches for loudness, Luna hears it and reaches for clarity. Each engineer remembers the conversation on a project, so follow-ups stay with the engineer you started with.

#Secret Fun Mode

Secret Fun Mode gives every engineer a mood. The audio decisions stay exactly the same.

At the bottom of the picker there is a small SECRET FUN MODE switch. Turn it on and the engineers keep their skills but lose their composure: Default gets Angry, Sophia turns Hippie, Alex starts Swearing, Marcus has a Panic Attack, Luna becomes a Cleaning Addict and Kai a Philosopher. It only changes how they talk (and how they sound in Voice Mode). Mastering parameters, intensity and processing are untouched, we checked.

Kai here. If a waveform peaks in the forest, does the limiter dream? Let's revise.

Kai, Secret Fun Mode on
Which engineer should I start with?

Default. It is the balanced treatment for your genre, so it is the fairest reference point. Then try the one whose "best for" matches your track and A/B the two.

Can I use different engineers on different revisions?

Yes. Every revision remembers which engineer made it, and it is shown in the Revision Info panel and in the A/B row tooltip.

Do engineers cost extra?

No. All six are available on every plan, including free.
